The Hold Steady - Boys And Girls In America - mp3 review
September 28th, 2006 r8e8rcomStarted to write about how it was wierd that I couldn’t sleep last night after being up for over 48 hours straight. Then started to write about how Nicole and I saw this dude get thrown down on the street and beaten by plain clothes cops yesterday. Then I was going to bitch about work. Then I was going to talk about the show that I played at FIT today with Jon at lunch (wierd right). Then I realized how late it was so I decided I was just going write about what I was going to write about. and that’s pretty much it.
how about a quote though:
Anyone who lives within their means suffers from a lack of imagination.
So I’m giving you guys the scoop on Pitchfork. They are apparently going to post their review of this record on Monday. I’m actually not a big Hold Steady fan, but I like their last record ok. I like the music much more than Craig Finn’s (ex Lifter Puller) vocals, dudes voice and vocal style wears on me a bit. These guys used to be on FrenchKiss, but the new record is coming out on Vagrant.
