Colour Revolt - Colour Revolt EP - mp3 review
October 10th, 2006 r8e8rcomI found myself with an insatiable urge to write yesterday. I noticed prior to this that these little shared ‘journals’ have started to become an addiction for me, however as of late I’ve found myself with a lack of courage to write anything, hence the lack of emails the past few days. Driven by this urge again I started writing and thoughts came pouring out, more than I could handle. I just let myself binge and kept writing. I wrote several different versions of this email, some tinged with personal accounts of the events that have been affecting my mood and contributing to my lack of confidence lately, some feeble attempts at witty analogies on life and music, some completely revealing and cruel confessions of my inner thoughts spilled out in a sloppy mess. I saved them all. I am now left with a comforting feeling, knowing that I could send any one of them at anytime, but never will. I don’t why, but the idea makes everything more bearable and makes the whole process worth it. And yet here I am sending another email about absolutely nothing.
I knew nothing about this band when we got the promo. I was a bit hesitant to check it out because there was one of those stupid quote stickers on the promo with a quote from ampcamp on there. But I heard it and loved it. The vocals remind me a bit of Natural Milk Hotel except nastier, which is a good thing IMHO, those fucking screams are brilliant. Apparently their live show is suppose to be insane as well. A quote on last.fm tells of a show where the drummer stood up and somersaulted into his drum set as the audience rushed the stage and the guitarist swinging his guitar in the air wildly.
