Jatun - Jatun - mp3 review
January 9th, 2007 r8e8rcomI have this re-occurring theme in many of my dreams since I was maybe four or five. The basic theme starts out with me being perused by a villain of some kind. Usually its a some kind of animal, like a bear or a wolf or something. What always seems to happen though is that I end up conquering my fear of whatever it is that’s perusing me and fighting back until I realize that its my father in disguise that’s been chasing me the whole time. At which point he usually ends up cowering in defeat and apologizing for scaring me. Every time I have it I come up with a different meaning for it. I wake up and apply some meaning that happens to coincide with whatever is going on in my life at that time, but yet I continue to have the same dream.
Sorry, I didn’t really have anything else to write about today. Feel free to offer an analysis if you like though.
This is some mellow M83 type shit, but its good. I know absolutely nothing about this guy/band? so I grabbed this from their site.
Jatun is Alan Grosvenor (guitar, keys, bass, loops) and Scott Worley (vocals, keys, guitar, laptop). Alan and Scott met in Portland, OR circa ‘04, and started writing the songs that would slowly form into the mish-mash of cables, circuits, ivory and alcohol known as “Jatun.” The s/t debut album, “Jatun” will be released in March 2007 on the indie label, “Other Electricities”. The album was written, engineered, and mixed by Scott and Alan.
