Dntel - Dumb Luck - mp3 review
Sorry I didn’t send anything out yesterday. My computer got this fucking virus that was sending out hundreds of spam emails all day. It basically took all day to reload the OS and software. That has to be the geekiest excuse ever. I should prolly get my ass kicked just for writing that. Anyway, almost everyone from insound is at SXSW so the insound office is pretty empty. I kind of wanted to go hang out this year, but its also nice to just sort of hang around and get some work done.
Dntel is the solo project of Jimmy Tamborello, known for mixing glitch and cut-up electronic techniques with instruments like acoustic guitars, accordions, and symphonies. Dntel released his first full-length album Life Is Full Of Possibilities in 2001. The LP featured vocal contributions by many artists, including Death Cab for Cutie’s Ben Gibbard on the breakout track (This Is) The Dream of Evan and Chan, which led to a single in 2002 and later, the formation of the band The Postal Service with Gibbard. These tracks are from his upcoming full length release ‘Dumb Luck’, which will be released on Sub Pop on 4/24. If you like this stuff or Postal Service def. check out ‘Life Is Full Of Possibilities’.
